During today’s Nintendo Direct, The Pokemon Company announced an enhanced version of the Wii U fighter Pokken Tournament. It will be called Pokken Tournament DX and will feature the following. You can also watch the reveal trailer above:

  • All of the Wii U fighters are here in addition to arcade Pokemon (Darkrai, Scizor, Croagunk, and Empoleon) and the new Decidueye from Pokemon Sun and Moon.
  • Litten and Popplio, the two starter Pokemon from Sun and Moon will now appear as support characters as well.
  • You’ll also be able to have Team Battles of up to three. Think Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, but with Pokemon.
  • All characters and support Pokemon will be unlocked from the very beginning.
  • You can play to complete daily challenges.
  • Obviously, because it’s on the Switch, you can play the game anywhere and with a variety of different controls to play, including holding the Joy Con sideways or using a Pro Controller.
  • The game will release worldwide on September 22.

In addition to information on the game itself, there is also an announcement of the game’s appearance at E3 2017 through the Nintendo Treehouse streams. There is also an announcement of a Pokken Tournament DX Invitational at E3 2017. Here’s the info:
