Dragon Quest XI Coming to the West in 2018

I love Dragon Quest, and by that I mean…I LOVE Dragon Quest. It’s one of my most favorite and influential franchises in video games. However, there have been many games that have garnered my attention recently, so I feel really bad that I have neglected covering Dragon Quest XI, which has already come out in Japan recently. Now that I have more free time, I can finally sit down and talk about how Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age has been confirmed to come to the west in 2018.

Square Enix has announced that it will be localizing the game in five different languages, which are the following:

  • English
  • French
  • Spanish
  • Italian
  • German

You can watch a video of the announcement above. In addition, you can read an overview of the game via Square Enix:

“The highly anticipated latest entry to the beloved Dragon Quest video game franchise follows the adventure of a hero who must solve the mystery of his fate with the aid of a charming cast of supporting characters. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age will offer a world of adventure, exploration and instances of heroism— all brought to life by the character art of famed manga artist Akira Toriyama and the memorable music of composer Koichi Sugiyama.”

The game’s already out for PS4 and 3DS in Japan, but we’ll receive more details soon on the western release. I am enormously excited to see this game in action, especially in English.
