TL;DR Cold Steel IV is the Avengers Endgame of RPGs…and it is also my Game of the Year for 2020. This is a fantastic game made purely for hardcore fans.
TL;DR If you’ve played Moero Chronicle, then you’ve already played this one. It’s literally a copy-paste of the previous game, but with different characters and dungeons. And also, it somehow runs worse than its predecessor.
TL;DR It’s good, but very slow and clunky. It’s just as entertaining as always, but the Switch version feels like it’s going to break every 5 seconds. When you get over that, it becomes just as addicting and fun as any version of RPG Maker before it.
After a long delay, NIS America has announced that RPG Maker MV will be releasing in North America on September 8 for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. In Europe, it’ll see it’s release on September 11, and Oceania will get it on September 18.
After the initial announcement of Cold Steel IV coming to the west, I have been waiting anxiously for the an actual release date, and now we have it. NIS America announced during the New Game+ Expo that the PS4 western release date of Cold Steel IV is October 27.

Short Version: It’s awesome and you should all get it. It’s a fun island-exploration adventure with very memorable characters, but then it takes some great twists that essentially turns it into Your Name with monster fighting.
