Bubsy: The Woolies Strikes Back Has Been Announced For PS4 and PC

This is certainly something I never thought I would write about today. Bubsy, the infamous character from those ill-received SNES, Genesis and PlayStation games is now making an unexpected return. After being inactive since the year 2000, the publisher Accolade has returned to bring Bubsy: The Woolies Strikes Back out in 2017 for PS4 and PC. The last game that they made was Bubsy 3D for the first PlayStation in 1997. Black Forest Games, the same people that made Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams will also be developing this title.

This new game will give Bubsy some new moves in addition to the ones he already had in the older games. He apparently also has many more one-liners to share in it. You can watch a teaser trailer above.

Personally, I find it very difficult to not be cynical and entirely negative about this piece of news, considering the horrible track record Bubsy has. However, I will treat this game like any other and be as reasonable and level-headed as possible, rather than immediately jumping to conclusions. The only way for us to have an opinion on it at all is to wait for the game to come out and report on whatever information is released prior to it as impartially as possible. It’s a weird-ass thing to hear happen, but hey, they probably got something up their sleeves if they’re gonna pull something like this. Let’s just wait and see what happens. Don’t let the cynicism consume you until we get something a bit more substantial.
