Sega has released a few videos featuring the villain of Sonic Forces named Infinite. The first one consists of a few cutscenes where the villain appears, while the second video showcases his theme song. There was a previous trailer during E3 2017 that showed off a variety of villains from the Sonic franchise, but this is the first time we see Infinite in full, which includes some voice acting.

Honestly, based on this one trailer, I’m not sure how the story aspects of this game will hold up. When the trailer started, I thought I had accidentally tuned in to those old Dragon Ball Z AMVs that had Linkin Park in the background. This looks exactly like all other Sonic games look like in terms of mediocre sound, cringe-inducing voice acting, tinges of edginess and out of place heavy metal that makes me think this might not work out in the end. Just like most Sonic games, it all starts out with a very good-looking trailer, only to see the actual gameplay be incredibly rough and underwhelming, to which then the fanbase despairs. I shouldn’t be so negative though; we need to wait for the thing to actually before I say anything declarative about it. I look forward to Sonic Forces this holiday for PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
